Desktop Wallpaper Biography
For Women's History Month or any time of the year, you can easily use one of many pictures on this site as your desktop wallpaper.
On a Windows PC, the technique is simple: find an image that you want as your desktop wallpaper, then right click on the image, and choose "Set as Wallpaper." It's as simple as that in most cases. You may need to select "stretch" as you're saving, or right-click on the desktop, select Properties, then the Desktop tab, then pull-down the menu at "Position" and choose "stretch." Again, that's with Windows.
Not all images on the Net will work well as wallpaper. I find that some are too busy and distracting; other images are too small or are not the right proportion. Depending on the proportions of your desktop monitor they may slightly distort the image, making individuals look either skinnier or fatter than in the original. Remember that if they're from old photographs they'll be a bit grainy.
